New ConstitutionThe Constitution Working Group (CWG) has published a draft constitution for the BKA here Members will need Adobe Acrobat reader to open and read this file. This is a commonly available program, available for free via the internet. The file contains a letter to members from the Chairman of the CWG, a survey pro-forma for feedback to the CWG and the full version of the proposed constitution. Under the CWG mandate from the last AGM, the BKA obtained permission to email every member for whom we have an email address and to email dojo contacts and to post material to all members. In view of the cost implications of sending a hard copy to every member, we have arranged for the publication of this document as follows:
The CWG has set a deadline of 28 Feb 09 for feedback (via the incorporated survey form). Thank you, Errol Blake Member No. 344 Chairman, Constitution Working Group 4 Feb 09 Update - 13th Feb 2009For information - a topic has been opened in the 'Private' section of the BKA forum http://www.kendo.org.uk/forum/index.php to discuss the above document. This does not superceed the request by the CWG for formal submission of comments and feedback, but naturally members are welcome to express opinions and ideas in this forum should you wish. Update - 4th March 2009Constitution feedback deadline extended to 24 March 09. The Constitution Working Group (CWG) originally intended that every member would have 3 weeks in which to feedback their thoughts on the proposed constitution. Unfortunately there have been unavoidable delays in publicising the proposed constitution to the full membership. This has resulted in some of you having little or no time in which to feedback your thoughts to the CWG. We apologise to the membership for this shortcoming. We very much value your feedback and have thus decided to extend the feedback deadline to 24 March 09. This gives everyone 3 weeks in which to read, discuss and feedback their views on the proposed constitution. Many thanks, Errol Blake, Chairman, Constitution Working Group. |
